SIFF's Most Serious Fans, page 2

The time: Sunday morning, just after 9 a.m. The place: Outside the Egyptian Theater on East Pine Street. It's the start of a bright, sunny day, one of the first after a particularly brutal winter. Yet dozens of area adults are voluntarily choosing to spend the entire day inside one or more darkened rooms. To them, movies are no mere date-night diversion. They are the few, the fanatic, the pass holders.

This particular line is for the Secret Festival. Only a few of the people in this line know what they're going to see. Nobody's allowed to talk about it afterwards. It could be an old film whose rights are in limbo, or a new film whose premiere was promised to another festival. Or it could just be a bunch of old cartoons.
